I got married! ...3 months ago.

Its been a good long while since I've written a personal blog and while going through my office today I realized I never shared but a couple of the photos from Aaron & I's big day or much about the wedding at all! Earlier this year I made a short little post announcing we were running off to New Orleans, LA with some of our closest friends and family and getting married! We had originally planned to get married this October here in South Bend but life and work had other plans and we decided to run off and make a trip of it since part of our love for each other is our love to travel. The South has always been a big part of who I am and my side of the family and NOLA is one of my favorite places I have ever been. Aaron, who had never been, trusted me and we gathered a list of our immediate friends & family and set our date for March 20th, 2016. We planned the entire getaway in 3 short months and I'd say we did a pretty good job! The short and sweet ceremony was held at the historic Tree of Life in Audubon Park and an informal dinner gather was held at The Maison on the jazzy Frenchman Street that evening. Two of our guests just happened to be not only my good friends but fellow photographers, Chris and Wes, who were able to capture our incredible day and for that I am forever grateful. Here are some of my favorite photos from our wedding along with the two readings from our ceremony.  -Xoxo Shelby Chari

No speed of wind or water rushing by
But you have speed far greater. You can climb
Back up a stream of radiance to the sky,
And back through history up the stream of time.
And you were given this swiftness, not for haste
Nor chiefly that you may go where you will,
But in the rush of everything to waste,
That you may have the power of standing still-
Off any still or moving thing you say.
Two such as you with such a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar
— The Master Speed, Robert Frost
Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like
volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a
decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined
together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because
this is what love is.Love is not breathlessness, it is not
excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion.
That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what
is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art
and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots
that grow towards each other underground, and, when all the pretty
blossoms have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one
tree and not two.
