I have known Anna...well, for a very very long time. We went to elementary school together and became very close in High School. I am so thankful for her friendship over all these years. I am thankful to consider her wonderful husband, Adam, a friend too. For anyone who knows Anna they know that she is... "a loud human" as she puts it. ;) She is spunky and wild and full of joy and its one of the things I admire most about her. Adam is her perfect compliment as he balances her out and seeing the two of them together is pure love. I attended their wedding nearly 3 years ago and when she told me this past year they were expecting their first little love I couldn't have been happier. Sweet little Eloise is due to arrive any day now, Literally ANY day now. I was absolutely honored when they also asked me to capture Ellie's arrival. If you have been keeping up with my work you may have seen that I shot my very first birth on NYE for some very close clients/friends of mine. Births aren't something I am planning to offer year round with wedding reservations, but if the opportunity comes about in my off season...I don't know that I will be able to say no. :P There is simply nothing else in the world like watching a human being take their first breath. I am sitting on pins and needles awaiting your arrival sweet Ellie. Here are some of my favorite shots from Anna & Adam's maternity session. Xoxo
Earlier this year I announced I would no longer be offering posed studio Newborn sessions. I won't be stopping newborns altogether but simply gearing more towards a lifestyle look and feel for my work rather than posed/prop photos. I scheduled a few last newborn sessions for early this year before I work on getting rid of my extra newborn props and turning my studio space into a bigger office. Sweet baby Landon is the very last baby boy I have had the pleasure to photograph in the posed newborn style. One thing I will miss most is the downtime waiting for babies to fall deeply to sleep so we can pose them, I love just gawking at beautiful new babies with new parents. I love seeing the joy in their eyes. I went to school with Landon's mom & dad so seeing them become new parents was really something special, I am so happy to have been able to capture their sweet new baby boy and all of his newness. Here are some of my favorites from his session.
I made some big decisions for my business this year. I narrowed down what types of sessions I will be offering and really took a look at what work I feel represents me as an artist. From the very beginning my focus was capturing those real moments. I love to show people how beautiful life is. Quite simply, I like to create work for my clients that speaks for itself. I recently made an announcement via Facebook that I would no longer be offering Studio Newborn and Backdrop Sessions. As much as I love snuggling on sweet brand new babies I have taken this new turn with my work and I do not feel like "staged" sessions represent me. (Not that they aren't totally and completely adorable, they just aren't my work.) As I said before, I want those moments to be happening before our eyes without limits. I will be gearing my focus towards Family and Newborn Lifestyle Sessions. I had my first Lifestyle Newborn Session this past weekend. What I love most is that I get to come over to a clients home (Or a relevant location) and capture them in the simplest most beautiful ways. Here are some sneak peeks from Baby Vincent's Lifestyle Newborn Session.
